and the livin' is easy. Or something like that.

And I have a new house and a newish baby.

So...20% off any cards or announcements ordered between now and the official start of summer (June 21). That's also Father's Day and a PhotoBook would make an awesome gift for an awesome Dad!

Jack was baptized last weekend (more on that and pics to come later). After I showed his invitation on thenest, someone asked me to design a card for their child's upcoming baptism. They wanted something very similar to Jack's, with a few small changes.

Here's Jack's:

And Cole's:

And the Thank you card I ordered for Jack (I'm not wild about the printing on the card, I'm going to have to check out some new printers if I'm going to start selling them):

Family Tree (kind of)

Not genealogically correct, but fun for Jack's room! I've made a couple more in the last few days b/c I'm slacking on getting ready for the baby, but they aren't quite finished yet.
10 days, y'all!

Laura and Luke's Wedding

This is a complete departure from my normal style. Very simple, but w/ embellishments and stuff. I did this last night, REALLY quickly, and there are some changes I'm still planning to make. I was just learning how to use brushes, after all!

Anyway, Laura is my husbands cousin, and I decided to use her wedding to experiment with - wouldn't be good to use someone who paid me to play with a new style! It's a surprise for her mom's birthday.

Anyway, my husband likes it. I'm less sure, but I think w/ a few changes I can get it there.

TWB Mountain Hunts

I guess some people will be turned off by this book, but, well, I really like some of the pages, so I'm putting it up here! It's my dad's hunting trips in Mountain locations. It's kind of interesting and some of the scenery is gorgeous, even if you're not into the whole dead animal thing:)

Blog Party 2008!!!

Welcome to the Ultimate Blog Party 2008! If you don't know what that is, head on over to The Ultimate Blog Party.

I just learned about the blog party today, from my Cousin-in-Law Kelly's blog, which is odd, considering just HOW MUCH TIME I spend reading blogs every day. But that's Ok. Better late than never:) (I tend to run late to IRL parties anyway).

The party over here at Once Upon a Memory has a lot going on. 1st, you can learn a little about me and a little about 1M. 2nd, We have prizes! Yep that's right. There's a giveaway goin' on. And 3rd, we've got the cutest party guests around!

About Me
THE BASICS: I'm 26, married for almost two years to Daniel (our 10 year dating anniversary is 3/21...I'm not givin' up 10 years, darnit!), I've got 2 adorable dogs, a beautiful horse (or 2) and a baby on the way. I don't really know yet if he's cute, but based on his US, I'd say yes (that's a he in the purely generic sense. I'm still 6 weeks away from knowing the details!). I design albums and announcements (more on that), and am a part-time counseling grad student.

THE BUSINESS: Once upon a Memory was created to be an affordable way for brides (or parents or any kind of people) to get affordable albums. My main staple is coffee table style books. A nice book to keep out and page through. I also offer digital flushmount books. My designs are customized to your style - from modern to classic, busy to calm, colorful or black and white. Whatever you want I can provide. I also LOVE to designs announcements for births or Save the Dates or party invitations. If you've got photos I can make them fun:)

INTERESTS: I love to read. It's a truly unhealthy passion. I watch too much tv, and spend WAAAAAY too much time reading blogs. All kinds of blogs. Politics, moms, educations, psych, law (I went to law school...forgot that part), animal, whatever. I just love them. I love to be outside, go on the boat, to the beach, whatever.

Now for the party guests...I'm sure you'll agree there are some cuties over here!

The Baby

And for the prize. If I had known earlier, I would have donated a prize to the UBP. Since I didn't, I'm just going to do a giveaway here. So here are the rules:
Check out the blog or website (to make sure youlike what I do) and leave a comment with your email address so I can contact the winners. I'll do a random drawing once the Blog Party is over on the 14th and there will be TWO WINNERS. The 1st place winner will win a custom designed announcement or invitation and 20 cards+envelopes. The 2nd place winner will win the design work alone. Good luck!

And if anyone is interested in the baby's progress or the crazy thoughts in my head, head to the baby blog!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the party!

Have I mentioned I'm pregnant?

No? Well, it's true! And if you want to keep up with my pregnancy and progress, head on over to my baby blog!

Long Day, Good Day

Yesterday was a very long day, but it was a good'n! Jess Cumbie and I went to Tampa to the ImagingUSA Expo. Yes, Jacksonville to Tampa to Jacksonville between 7am and 7pm. And y'all know I'm NOT an early riser!!!

It was a fun day though: I got to look at lots of great album samples without having to purchase them (more on my new choices later) and Jess bought a Shootsac (the cuteness of the ShootSac made me wish YET AGAIN that I could be a photographer! Why can't I have that talent???).

Happy New Year Giveaway!

The 1st person to purchase an album from me in 2008 will receive that album at my cost - this can be a photographer's sample album, an engagement book, guestbook, baby book, wedding album, whatever you choose, from any of the many companies that I can purchase from! This means you pay nothing for my time or design work.

Email to sign up for your at cost book now!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Christmas!!!

Secret Book Update - Rachael and Adam's Wedding

Well, it's Christmas and the album has been received so I can show it off now. This was my Daniel's cousins wedding, and while we didn't get to go we saw pictures and I stole some from their facebook pages and blogs to make a book for Christmas. I really like some of these pages. I do wish I had had some that I later found on Rachael's facebook page, and I'm going to offer to redo it for them...(I have a compulsion to be perfect).

Ethan's 1st Football Season

This is, as is often the case, a bit different. It's an album designed for an 11 year old's 1st football season. It was kind of challenging, since, well, I'm not an 11 year old boy (and never have been!), but I think I like the final version. As always, questions or comments are appreciated.

Sunday, November 25, 2007

There's not a whole lot to report, I've been distracted with real life lately. But I should have some images from Ethan's Football book up soon, and hopefully a little bit of RJs Gap Year as well. That's pretty much it...

ZookBinder Photobook

I received the 1st of my Zookbinders photobooks today! I love it! I was a little nervous about wasn't cheap and the company has gotten mixed reviews lately. But I think maybe the problem is the response time, and from what I understand, they're working on that. I'm going to post pictures of the book, but remember...I took them. And I am the world's worst photographer.

This was the River Boat Trip Book I blogged about a month or 2 ago.

What's up next

1)Austin's Senior Year
2)RJs Gap Year
3)Ethan's football season (December)
4)Jose's new baby!

So, yeah, not a lot of weddings coming up, which is of course where I have all my fun. Anyone have a wedding?

Secret Book

I just finished a new book that I can't post yet. It's going to be a gift for someone, and while I doubt they'll see the blog, it's not worth the risk. So, if anyone wants to check out my newest wedding album, send me an email. Otherwise, I'll post the pics around Christmas time.

RIver Boat Trip

My inlaws spent 10 days on a River Boat Trip through Europe this summer, and I put together an album for them for a Christmas gift. It is being printed by zookbinders in a 7.5" square photobook, but till it gets here, here are the layouts!

Jess and Wes's Wedding

This is the most recent album. I don't really know how I feel about it. I like some pages, others I'm not as sure about. It's also getting mixed reviews. Comments would be VERY appreciated!

It's final version will be printed in a Zookbinders Photobook 6x9. Each of these pictures is a 2 page spread.

Savannah Kate

Savannah is an absolutely beautiful little girl with a very cute little brother. This album shows Savannah's 2nd year.

Sunday, September 16, 2007 - Very Cool Site!

Besides the fact that this video demonstrates VERY VERY clearly why I'm not a photographer (which a ton of peopl have asked since I started the business), it's such a cool thing. takes your pictures and music and puts together a music video. Seriously, it's not a slideshow, it's much much cooler. And you can remix it as many times as you want. A 30 second video (as many as you want) is free, and a full length one is $3 or a one time yearly fee of $30 (I think!). Check it out:)
